27 rue de Fleurus - 4 X 5 inches. - limited addition print - 1996

27 reu de Fleurus was the home of the writer Gertrude Stein and her partner Alice B. Toklas in the early part of the 20th century. It was also the home of Gertrude's brother, Leo Stein. They displayed the Stein collection of art in the apartment. Artists such as Matisse, Cezanne, and Picasso displayed there among other artists. This address was a renowned Saturday evening gathering and conversation place for artists and writers of the time. I produced this original artwork and made it available as a print addition commemorating this gathering place as a model of a fitting activity for our day.
